The Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences (FHPV) of the University of Prešov in Prešov (PU) offers the training of specialists in the fields of biology, ecology, geography and applied geoinformatics at all three levels of study.
Traditionally, it offers training of students – future teachers in biology, ecology, physics, geography, mathematics, pedagogy and technology (combined with other subjects).
It is the only faculty of the PU with the engineering program physical engineering of progressive materials. A variety of offers is complemented also by the study fields of andragogy, education studies and social pedagogy.
The Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences has an excellent research infrastructure. Students have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art devices in modern laboratories that are part of the Excellence Research Center, the Competence Center, and the University Science Park Technicom. These are the TOP technologies in the field of molecular genetics and biomedicine, extraction and analysis of biologically active substances, physical measurements of magnetic, thermal and electrical properties of solid materials at low temperatures, geographic information systems, remote Earth exploration and 3D modeling of the landscape, and principles of chip machining.
